We never throw the original away
The raw conversation is preserved verbatim, with extracted facts and reflections layered on top. You can answer questions like "what exactly did I say at that moment?"
What you told ChatGPT doesn't follow you to Claude — and even that memory isn't yours. Malro is the vendor-neutral memory layer you own and carry to any assistant.
Watch what Malro is — and why your memory should belong to you.
LLMs have memory now — but it's siloed per vendor and it isn't yours. A decision you made in ChatGPT is invisible to Claude, and if the company or account goes away, that memory goes with it. Malro closes the gap with a vendor-neutral memory layer you own and can take anywhere.
💾 Malro is the "external USB drive" you plug into your LLM.
The LLM itself (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini…) is like a computer that powers down between every session — brilliant, but with no internal disk to remember yesterday. Malro is the external drive you plug in yourself.
- A file you saved by plugging into ChatGPT can be read tomorrow by plugging into Claude
- If one computer breaks or the company disappears, your USB is still in your pocket
- When a new LLM ships, plug the same drive into it and your entire history follows
In other words: the ownership of your memory sits with you, not with OpenAI / Anthropic / Google.
A few services already bolt memory onto LLMs, but most of them are essentially "summarizers that extract facts from a conversation." Malro is different in four ways.
The raw conversation is preserved verbatim, with extracted facts and reflections layered on top. You can answer questions like "what exactly did I say at that moment?"
Time and location are baseline fields on every memory. "Tuesday lunch," "near Gangnam Station," "Kyoto last spring" — search the way humans actually recall memories.
Old facts are closed, not erased. You can ask "where was I working in spring 2024?" and get an answer grounded in that past moment.
Capture is deterministic, not delegated to the LLM's judgment. Opt-in, and pausable per category or session.
From your accumulated memory we infer your expertise and vocabulary level, so the AI explains the same "income tax" with technical terms to an accountant and simple analogies to a schoolchild.
If the MCP connector feels like too much, mail any note to your private address instead. Anything you send to save+yourtoken@in.malro.io becomes a recallable memory.
